For 15 years,film maker and director of photography Walter Carvalho dreamed of making a filmabout Moacir, a popular, self-taught artist living in the Chapada dos Veadeiroshighlands. A unique character, although a confirmed schizophrenic, withproblems in bone formation, in speech, and in hearing, he is able to giveexpression to his inner world through primitive and vigorous art much admiredby Goiás artist Siron Franco. Demons, bizarre beings, fantastic animals, nudewomen, and other beings people the drawings that cover the walls of his houseand have got him into serious trouble with the Evangelicals.
