República Pureza Filmes

Producer Marcello Ludwig Maia founded República Pureza Filmes during the so-called revival of Brazilian cinema in 1995. Among the highlights of this trajectory are Amarelo Manga, Febre do Rato, Big Jato and Piedade, by Cláudio Assis, Um Passaporte Húngaro and Três Verões, by Sandra Kogut, A Erva do Rato and Educação Sentimental, by Julio Bressane, A História da Eternidade, by Camilo Cavalcante, Um Filme de Cinema, by Walter Carvalho, Faroeste Caboclo, by René Sampaio, A Frente Fria que a Chuva Traz, by Neville de Almeida, O Beijo no Asfalto and Pérola, by Murilo Benício, Domingo, by Clara Linhart and Fellipe Barbosa and two films based on novels by Clarice Lispector that he co-produced, A Paixão Segundo GH, by Luiz Fernando Carvalho, and O Livro dos Prazeres, by Marcela Lordy, among many others – feature films, documentaries, series and TV projects. This set of films won awards and participated in festivals such as Berlin, Venice, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto, Toulouse, Havana, Bafici, etc.

Among the new films, “As Vitrines”, by Flávia Castro, and “Quatro Meninas”, by Karen Suzane, a co-production with the Netherlands, stand out. Both are in post-production and are scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2025.
